An 80th birthday is a milestone, especially for twin sisters, and worth going all out for, this amazing family did just that. Family members flew in from as far away as Seattle Washington to celebrate with these two beautiful ladies. Now there was a surprise...and you would think that the surprise would be for the birthday girls right? Wrong!! Jean, and Joan, the birthday girls certainly turned the tables with this one. The usually fashionably well dressed sisters showed up wearing crazy granny clothes, sporting walkers and canes with bicycle bell and horn attached!! They even wore crazy socks over the sensible nylons that more "mature" women tend to wear. As I watched these two amazing women walk up to the door, I was captivated by their energy, charisma, beauty, and sense of humor. They were hilarious.
After an amazing catered lunch everyone headed back to Laurie and David's house just up the road. As soon as I walked into this beautiful home, I spotted the cake. This cake, no word of a lie had to have been 30lbs! It was huge and absolutely gorgeous. When I turn 80, if I ever make it, I want a cake just as grand (friends and family please take note) ;)
The birthday girls arrived shortly after everyone else, and once again surprised everyone by wearing matching Loft outfits. Apparently they have not dressed alike since they were young girls.
Jean and Joan are amazing ladies, and their charm and wonderful sense of humor made this day unforgettable for myself and their family. By the end of the party I practically felt like I was one of the family. This family was so warm and welcoming, and I just fell in love with them! I sincerely hope that I get the pleasure of photographing another family event for them or maybe they would consider a partial adoption. ;)
This for me, was not just an event to photograph, but an experience to savor, and cherish.
I had a great time. Thank you so much for having me for this great party!
Great job Jess! They look like lovely ladies with lots of family and friends to celebrate with :)
